  1. Direct Drive: Thank you to the 76 donors who have already contributed $14,000 to the PTSA Direct DriveWe are grateful for your support! For those who haven’t yet had a chance to give, please help us reach our goal. These donations drive the entire yearly budget for our PTSA to provide tangible support for our students and staff. Any amount, large or small, makes a difference. Learn more about how donations make an impact and donate today. 
  2. This Fri, Dec. 15, One-hour early release at 1:25! Also, this Friday: all Lost & Found items will be donated.
  3. Did you know… Arbor Heights Elementary is one of six SPS schools outfitted with solar panels on its roof to make it part of the largest solar array in Washington state? This video, made three years ago, showcases an amazing project right here on our roof!
  4. Progress Reports will be available for parents to view on Monday, Dec. 18. Check your child’s report card:
    • Visit the Source
    • If you have previously set up your Source account, enter your username and password.  If you have not set up your Source account, click ‘Set up’. Information on how to set up your Source account. Your username is the email address on the school record.
    • In the top right-hand corner, select which child’s progress reports you would like to access. Classes shown for students are a list of subjects (not necessarily in order) the student studies throughout the day. 
  5. Arbor Heights Yearbook Cover Design Contest! Interested students are invited to enter our contest by creating a design that includes elements of the Salish Sea. Our student body will vote on their favorite design which will be featured on the cover of the yearbook. Runner up drawings will be included throughout the yearbook and on the back cover. Designs must be submitted on an 8-1/2” x 11” paper (no lined paper). Write your name on the BACK only. Submissions are due Friday, January 5, 2024. Information on the Salish Sea and the Coast Salish People can be found at through the Burke Museum and the SeaDoc Society.
  6. Preparing for Winter Weather: As we move into the colder months, you may want to review how you will receive urgent weather information from Seattle Public Schools.

From the PTSA

  1. After School Enrichment Winter Session: The Winter Session Schedule for After School Enrichment has been released! Please check the PTSA website for more details. Session Registration will be on Jan 3rd at 5:00 p.m. Mark your calendars!  Scholarships are available. 
  2. Volunteers Needed: We are still looking for Enrichment Committee volunteers that can help act as an on-site point person one day a week. Volunteers can get a FREE class for their child and early registration for all classes. Check for more info and to fill out our volunteer interest form.
  3. Girls on the Run: Girls on the Run is a great social/emotional running program for girls (and NB) in grades 3-5. We are hoping to get a team set up for the spring here at Arbor Heights but need 2-4 coaches (men or women) who are willing to help. The GOTR org provides all training, materials, and directions for leading practices. Please contact gwen.manchion@gmail.com for more information.
  4. Arbor Heights Auction Committee: Planning is underway for the 2024 Arbor Heights Annual Auction, and we’d love your help in making this year’s event a success.  Our Auction Kick Off Meeting will be held during the first week of January.  For more information on how you can get involved, please email Heather Nordlund heather.nordlund@gmail.com.
