Giving
Giving at Arbor Heights
As a public elementary school, Arbor Heights relies on the generosity of our community to support our school and further our mission. Community giving in the form of financial gifts, resources, materials, time, and expertise allow us to create an exceptional learning environment that would otherwise not be possible.
Financial Gifts
Each year, the Arbor Heights PTSA (501c3) organizes two major fundraising events to benefit our school. In the Fall, the Direct Donation Drive and in the Spring, the annual auction. The funds raised from these two events provide the majority of the PTA’s annual operating budget. Learn more about donating to the Arbor Heights PTSA.
Resources & Materials
Many individuals and businesses in our community contribute resources and materials to our school. These donations come in many different forms from school supplies to playground equipment to food donations for our weekend backpack program and winter jackets, gloves, and hats for our most vulnerable students. There are often one-time requests from teachers for materials for classroom projects that we’ll post on our website or Facebook page.
Time & Expertise
Each and every day we have parents, grandparents, and community members who volunteer in our classrooms. We love having these special individuals share their talents and expertise with our students. Learn how to become an Approved Volunteer.
DonorsChoose
Several of our teachers utilize DonorsChoose.org, a nonprofit organization that allows individuals to donate directly to public school classroom projects. Check the DonorsChoose website to search for active projects in need of funding.
