Food Drive Collects 1,297 Pounds

Summary: Students collected 1,297 pounds of food and toiletries to support the West Seattle Food Bank.

A group of ambitious 5th graders in Ms. Bill’s 5th-grade class wanted to do something to support the community and decided to organize a food drive. Along with support from their student-teacher, Miss Olson, the students collected non-perishable foods and non-food items such as hygiene products and cleaning supplies to support the West Seattle Food Bank from Feb. 28–March 18, 2022, and collected over 1,297 pounds of food and hygiene products.
